Brand Identity and Brand Engagement Sacramento
Creative Branding and Creative Brand Engagement in Sacramento, CA
What is brand identity consulting? Basically, before a branding agency starts working on your graphic design or your logo design, we get together with you to flesh out exactly what your brand identity is.
- How do you want your customers to feel about your business?
- What makes your business unique?
- What is your Companies Vision?
- What is your Companies Target Market?
- What is your highest ROI service?
- Who is your Target demographic?
When you use our brand identity consulting services for your business in the greater Sacramento area, there is actually a whole series of steps we take to make sure that we have an accurate understanding of your business and that we can represent it correctly. Located in the Foothills of Sacramento (El Dorado Hills), we are your local team of seasoned brand identity experts that have completed hundreds of brand projects and we can help your company in a creative process as well. Here is what you can expect when you come to Front Street Media for your brand identity consulting needs.
Writing a creative brand identity brief
The creative brief is your plan for the business. Don’t worry if you haven’t written one – we’ll be asking you questions we need to know the answers to when we consult with you anyway. The creative brief is your business needs. Whether you need a complete brand identity package or a looking or basic logo design, we still need to go through a creative process.
We need to know answers to questions like:
- What is your vision statement?
- What is your mission statement?
- What is your 5-year plan?
- What is your 10-year plan?
- Who is your ideal customer?
- What is your target demographic?
- How do you contact your customers?
- What do you do to get loyal customers?
- Who are your main competitors?
These questions will help us get a basic, foundational understanding of your business so that we can start figuring out what designs would be most effective to connect with your customers and reinforce your brand identity.
Do some research
This part is on us. You’ve already done plenty of research about your competition and the local market for your Sacramento business, but we also need to do research to make sure we have an objective, unbiased view. This is the only way to make absolutely positive that our designs and marketing strategies are on point and will be effective. We will be researching your business, the competition, and the existing reputation your business already has, if any. Here are some of the questions we’ll be looking into:
- How is your business already perceived?
- How do your target key words fit into your industry?
- Where do you stand out or fit in with the competition?
Draw sketches and illustrations
At this point, we have a pretty solid idea of what your business is and how it stands out from the rest of the competition. The next step is to get out our pencils and paper and to start sketching some logo designs.
These are just rough sketches to get some basic concepts down on paper. We’ll be working with lines and forms to try and create an emotional reaction to the logo and graphic design that reflects your brand identity.
Transfer the best concepts to the computer (Produce Final Brand)
Once we’ve figured out the best concepts from the sketches we’ve done, we’ll start working with software. We use Adobe Illustrator, which is the industry standard, to map out the designs and to begin to create the final logo design and graphic design plan.
In this stage, we create several different versions of your logo design to make sure that you will be able to choose one you love. We also work to find a font that is going to be perfect for your brand identity.
One note about fonts: we are very particular not to use fonts that are commonly found on regular computers. You are pretty much never going to see Times New Roman or Comic Sans or god-forbid papyrus on one of our designs. Even if end users do not recognize fonts by name, there is a psychological connection that people make with fonts they have seen before versus fonts that are new to them.
Your business is unique, and the fonts that are in your logo design and your web page design should also be unique. Of course, this does not mean that no one else on the Internet is using the same font, unless you have a bespoke font designed just for you. But it means that your website is going to have a font that people see rarely, if at all. And that makes your brand look unique.
Present the logo and Brand Identity
At this point, we present you with the best of the best of the logos we have designed. We give you a PDF of the logos, including different formats of each logo: in black and white, reversed, in color, and both small and large.
This shows you how each logo will look in all the different ways you might need to use it. The black and white version is the most important variation, since you will probably need to use your logo on a black and white publication or copy at some point. You need to make sure your logo looks clear and catchy when it comes off a Xerox machine, just as much as when it’s on the top of your Facebook page.
Finalize Design, Brand Identity & Print Marketing Material
After we have shown you the options we have come up with, you will make your selection. You might want elements of one logo combined with the typography from another logo, or you might just adore one of the logos exactly as it is. It is extremely helpful to print out the various logos and place them around your workplace as you would see the final logo. This helps give clarity in what you are going to be seeing every day and how the logo looks in its final position.
After you have reported back to us with your favorite logo, or have made your final requests for corrections and tweaks, we will deliver the finished logo to you in all the formats you might need it, including JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, Illustrator, and any others you might request.
At this time, we will also deliver the style guide. This is the document that will tell you what fonts we have used, exactly what colors are in the logo, and all other pertinent information you need to be able to place your logo within all your publications and sites with a consistent look.
